Hurlock's season included placing 5th at Stanford, 1st in Mt. SAC's Team Sweepstakes race, and 4th in Division 1 at the state meet.

With 300m to go, John Dressel had a national title in his sights. Though there was some rubbin' with the eventual champion Grant Fisher, Dressel knows that that's racin'. "It did stop my momentum quite a bit and once you get bumped you can't really do much from there," Dressel says. "You just kind of have an "oh crap" feeling, but you still gotta execute and finish hard." The junior explains how he executed his race strategy, the adrenaline of taking the lead at Foot Locker, and his overall experience at nationals.

You never know what'll happen. Tessa Barrett's original plan was to peak for the Pennsylvania State Meet and just see what happens after that. What happened? She then took the win at Foot Locker Northeast and began to think that a win at the Foot Locker Finals was a possibility. At Balboa Park, the Abington Heights senior took the lead before the halfway mark and even though the pack eventually came back on her, Barrett surged late to take the win and national title.
