Well Barack is Kenyan so he must have some good running blood in him. It would have been nice if he had showed up in some short shorts and ran a couple of laps with the Oregon team. But I still think it's cool that he showed up at such a historic place. What I have to say to Levi is that you can't hold Barack to double standard; Bill Clinton was at the Super Bowl courting Gov. Bill Richardson's support so don't bash Barack since he showed up at a track meet.

Some people need to grow up. . . attacking someone because they disagree is immature. Grow up.

to levi. . If you think levi's comment was harsh you must be hypersensitive. . . all he said was he didn't like mixing politics and sports and he was stumping. . . Get a life.

when you say your opinion in a harsh way, it tends to set people off like that.

WOW, Jack xand what the. . .what the heck?? Did you guys go off your meds??? Surely, it takes more than someone expressing an opinion that is evidentally different from yours to set you off. . . Wow, must be a tough life. Didn't know my little ole opinion would strike such nerves, or that it was such a sensitive bunch!

Levi is off his/her rocker. Its amazing how antagonistic people can be when they perceive something to be a certain way. Based on Levi's remarks, we might as well keep elected officials locked inside offices if the immediate gut reaction is "oh, they're doing that for publicity".

What, BO is not allowed to like track? Not allowed to go to a sporting event? Are you really arguing that he made an appearance at the meet as part of his strategy to win over voters? As if that many voters really care about track. You%u2019re deluding yourself. If this was part of some diabolical political ploy, he would have picked a more high profile event. He would be drinking beer at a basketball game, or throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game. And, how exactly did he "ruin" this event? Did it impact how the athletes ran? I am sorry it takes so little for someone to "ruin" track for you. That's just sad.

Oh HT, thank you for informing me that I, although not a "sir", am wrong! Wrong about what, I have no idea. . . I am entitled to my opinion I do believe. . . I am wrong for stating that Mr "O" showing up at a sporting event to stump for votes is unappealing to me? Last time I checked in my country I am entitled to my opinion. But thanks for caring!

Levi, I dont think you realize that the larger percent of the american public is stupid enough to base their votes, on such silly things as how much the president can drink, how good he can bowl, etc.(these were real controverisies, see nytimes) Unfortunately since, these "six pack joe's" just want a president they can have a drink with, the candidates have to try and appeal to these retarded voters. Obama has already come under flack just for not drinking at a bar in pennslyvania, which is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Hilary and Barack are both good candidates, however Hilary is very dirty and frankly just not as good as a candidate as Barack(I wont go into why, too long). Anyway he doesn't tarnish it either, if anything he is bringing people to the event and as you probably know track is in desperate need of that these days, plus the races are still going on. So you sir, are wrong.

I hate it when the dirty game of politics tarnishes a perfectly enjoyable sporting even. I mean really do you think he would ever come to a track and field event if not stumping for votes? How naive does he think people are?
