I don't know if it makes the shirt any better, or worse, but that's Pre's silhouette. Makes it a little more American.

I'm pretty sure It does have a relation to running + a relation to New Balance
Also, the theme is basically patriotism. Making shoes in a America IS being patriotic
And...I've never seen a shirt like it so "cliched" it is not
