In the spring of 2008 the nation with hit with one of the best high school state meets in history as the fastest times ever were run in the boys 3200 and girls 1600. Christine Babcock ran 4:33 that day in May (splitting 4:17 for 1500). One of best prep's in history entered her freshman year at the University of Washington and she delivered with a bang. Christine was the top freshman at the 2008 NCAA XC Championships and 7th overall in the country as she led the dominant Huskies to a national title. She went on to become a finalist in the 1500 meters at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Since then Christine has had trouble putting together stints of healthy training. Now on the road to recovery, Christine talks about her journey and what its been like to be sideline as one of the best. Her positive attitude is unlike many others out there and just a small part of what makes her such a wonderful person. All the best to Christine on her road to get back to the top!

God must not want her to run as fast as she did when she was in high school.while you're at home sitting on your ass typing this up, Christine is out there working her butt off for her team so she can help guide them to another national title. i hope you feel accomplished |

Christine is certainly a wonderful person. As talented as she is, nothing will overshadow what an amazing human being and teammate she is. Seeing her every day, how she acts, how she holds herself, and how much she cares about the people around speaks volumes about her. Christine is very, very inspiring. |

that was incredible. I've always looked up to Christine and this just solidifies why she is such a great role model, not just for her teammates or other athletes, but as people. Having faith is such a difficult thing to do and like, Coach Metcalf I do not believe she has reached her full potential. Thanks flotrack and Christine! |

Coach Metcalf always tells us to surround ourselves with great people, Christine is one of those great people. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be impacted by Christine's presence and her words. She is incredibly talented and one of the hardest working people I know. Her spirit is impenetrable and she is truly an inspiration to myself and our team. Thank you Christine for always being strong and for keeping a positive attitude throughout your struggles, I know your faith will never fail you. |

Coach is right- talent doesnt go away. Once you start getting some traction back in the training rather than spinning your wheels in the mud it can be amazing how fast it comes back. Especially for a young super talented runner. She will be back- 100%. Another great interview btw- obv. |

Wasn't she in the Olympic Trias in HS (and did pretty well)?Yes, she advanced to the semis of 1500m in 2008, before her freshman year at UW. She was one of 4 women in 1500m from UW that year, joining fellow semifinalists Katie Follett and Michelle Turner, and quarterfinalist Amanda Miller. |

Christine is remarkable, period. No one is more deserving of such a Flotrack Feature Video. She is a terrific teammate - selfless, hardworking, and humble. Christine should be esteemed as much for her faith and attitude as for her talent. |

Amazing Interview

This is one of the best interviews I have seen on Flotrack. It really gives thought to the wonder and pain of our sport. I could remember very vividly a passage I came across while down about with my injury and with the road back to recovery and fitness. "When I am weak... I am strong." |
