Good advice on not wasting an opportunity to experiment. What have you got to lose... you can only gain. Jack is the man! |

Jack is real big on improving each season, from when you start running to whenever you decide to stop. Some athletes push themselves to reach a certain level ability then the next couple season has either been capped off or declined. He likes to see small improvements rather than no improvement, mental or physical. |

One thing I find great about Daniels that most other coaches don't seem to do, is that he wants his runners to continue running even after he is finished coaching them. His goal is to create to a lifelong pursuit of the sport for each individual. They are not running solely for him or the school, but rather only for themselves. |

Jack Daniels is a great coach because he questions the conventional methods that most coaches don't. A lot of what goes into practice and warm-ups can become so routine that we forget to re-assess our methods and continually try to improve. I think a good coach should always ask themselves "Why do we do this?" and "How can we make this better", and Jack Daniels does this. |
