Happy Thanksgiving to all.. Tell us where you are on thanksgiving. what did you do today, a turkey trot? or just planning on eating turkey....

Its the start of something new here at Flotrack called Topic Thursdays. With our new activity board we'd like to have some discussions every week about things in the track and field community. Being the first one, and also on Thanksgiving, we thought we'd start it off by seeing where everyone was for the Thanksgiving Holidays this year. Are you with your family, did you run a Turkey Trot, play football???

I am in Maine at my parent's place. I got up at 6:30am today to play the 11th annual Turkey Bowl...a football battle between some close friends back home. Our team was victorious!! Turkey Bowl 2008 champs!!! Hope everyone is having a great holiday!

Ryan

Nice sentiments guys. Thanks for all you do. After allowing about 7 weeks to recover from a stress fracture I got out and ran today. I felt sluggish but was glad to have the opportunity to run again, mostly pain free. Keep up the great work, and happy thanksgiving.

Ran for 35min. with some friends. Not bad for getting Chemo last week. Then watched the Turkey Trot in Memphis, watching Rob Sorrell ( U of Ok ) out distance Stephen Hill ( CBU) for the victory in 19:34 for 4miles.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and FloTrack.
Cheers!!!!!!!!!

-mark, ryan and kevin, for letting me contribute articles and interviews.
-guys like matt withrow, for reminding me that it is possible to come back from bad hip injuries.

So, My video definitely doesn't work. Instead, as is family tradition, I will list 3 things I am thankful for, and I encourage others to do the same!

1. Running without shin splints or stress fractures!
2. My running companions who get me out of the door every morning.
3. The Sandia Mountain Foothills. Stunning views, big hills, and high altitude!
These are my flotrack 3 great things.

Visting my family in Centerville, OH. I ran a 5M TT this morning, 28:52 which I'll take. I'm in my 3rd week of training for the "Last Chance For Boston" which will be held on 2/15/09 in Dublin, OH. I did get passed by Ann Alyanak (2008 US Olympic Trials) today just before the first mile. Maybe one day I'll be able to keep up. I also hope to run 28 and change like Mark did today and call it a "disaster". Ha!

Getting ready to feast on some Turkey and all that comes with it. It's definitely nice being with my family and catching up. It feels good to be out of NYC for a bit and take in suburbia. Also looking forward to crashing on the couch and watching some football.
When is Flotrack going start selling some gear on the site? The mesh hats would sell really well! Just a thought.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
