What does it mean that there international implements?

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

it means they used impliments that would be used in international competition such a javelin and other things like 16lb shots and 2k discs intead of normal high school 12lb and 1.6k discs

For this specific meet, they allowed him to take extra throws with the international/collegiate-sized shot, disc & 110HH in an attempt to break both records. He actually fouled on all three attempts in the hs 12-lb shot, which is why he didn't break Beach's' hs American record of 7909. With his marks using the international implements and 42-inch 110HH, he broke that record.

Hard to believe he chose Arkansas over Oregon?

You might wanna say he goes to Sante Fe High School in Edmond, OK to avoid confusion.

Great effort. True pity he didn't take Oregon.
