It is hard not to pick favorites at the NCAA XC Championships

Kevin Selby 3 years ago

Maybe it is just because I witnessed two top dogs last week, but I have a tough time thinking that a non-favorite will come away with an individual crown at the NCAA Cross COuntry Championships.

I see two possibilities for both men and women. Reed will probably take the title, and Hasay looked very easy in winning the west region. I understand that others (FSU and Georgetown) will contend, but it seems to be a two person race on the women's side.

The men come down to Lalang and Korir, and I give Lenny the edge. Lalang will have his day, but Korir is set to win this title. His closing abilities are second to none.

I would love to say that a Hill or Enfeld is going to steal one, but it is just not there.

Look for favorites to bring the chips across the mat first on Monday.
