Virginia Showcase Hype Video

MILESPLIT -- The biggest event of the year both by numbers and a scary high level of talent, is finally here. The VA Showcase will take place this Friday and Saturday on Liberty University's brand new $30,000,000 hydraulically banking track.

The juice of this meet will be nearly a dozen events where state and national records are likely to fall. The biggest of these is the Girls' 1K race featuring an entire seeded section seeded under 3:00. At the front of that pack will be Kate Murphy and Sammy Watson. They will be joined by a group of over 20 national champions and 100+ all-americans competing this weekend.

The biggest stars of the meet though will definitely be the girls from St. Jago who are making history this weekend. This team of girls will be the first Jamaicans to ever compete in a high school meet indoors. It is no coincidence this is happening exactly 100 days before the Penn Relays.
