Interesting April 15 at 9:48am
Sell has an interesting foot fall for a marathoner. Those ground shots made it noticeable. Boston is going to be sick! Can't wait!

most of that has to due with fact he's not running a marathon in those shots. Foot plant is a result of speed, not a certain stride type.

and don't forget that these guys are elites. lots of them are just naturally fast"[/quote]

Yup, lots of them just naturally ran 150 miles a week growing up?? These guys can run faster because they've trained longer, harder and probably better.
@ Whatswrong
Fitness is cumulative. You can't just go out and run 1000 miles in a week and become 100x more fit. It takes years for the body to adapt to and benefit from running. (about 8 years solid for distance runner to reach a "full" potential to be more specific)

Is anyone else having problems watching the whole thing?

maybe you're doing too high of mileage that you can handle that its taking the quality out of many of your workouts
always quality over quantity!

What's Wrong 3 years ago

Hey, maybe some of you can help me out. I try to run 100+ miles per week like the Brooks guys and do some repeat 1000's but I can't seem to get as fast as these guys. What am I doing wrong?

Sell does two runs a day unless it's his long run day. usually 12-14 in the morning and then a little shorter in the afternoon

now THAT is a solid workout!

Im pretty sure Morgan and most of the rest of the Hansons were at Gate River a couple days before St. Patty's day. They might not have been working out.

Simple Simon 3 years ago

Ryan maybe you can answer this. Does Sell do the 22 miles in a single run per day (the Wetmore philosophy) or does he do two a days?

Keith talks! I thought the Hanson bros. were like Penn & Teller.

Nice video. The Hansons Group is always cool.

What were the other guys doing? I noticed Mike Morgan in the back in red. I take it he's not running Boston then?

Michael M. thinks he knows everything about training. Tell me if I'm wrong, but have you produced any Olympians recently? Ever? They can call splits however that want.

wow thats tight how they have someone new leading every interval

im not good at math but that really doesnt make sense

ghhrfy 3 years ago

"That coach was really into the splits. I don't think that calling each 400 and the last 200 down to the hundredths of a second was really needed.

It probably just confuses the runners."
I doubt it confuses the runners, they are used to keeping track of splits and pacing themselves- it helps them to know exactly how fast they're running and where they're at.

what 3 years ago

proof you don't need a mondo track to train
whoever said you do? who are you proving this to?

fromm 3 years ago

Did he say 22 miles a day? Wow i can't even comprehend what it takes to be able to do that. Sell is an animal.

Fred Farkle 3 years ago

Like clockwork! 2:54 per k. Wish I could be that disciplined. I guess it helps to have a training group eh.
