She's awesome, I can't wait to see her roll in Houston. The half should be something new and refreshing for her. |

Best Shalane interview ever! She has a lot more personality here than in previous interviews. I think the friendly Oregonians are rubbing off on her. I've always been a huge fan, it's nice to see her interact with Ryan and seem a bit more human! |

She seems a lot happier than the last interview. If she keeps her positive attitude, she'll see improvement soon. |

Agreed...to an extent

I agree with most of what has been posted except she left a coach that took her to a bronze medal and now finishes well back. Personally you may not like your coach but they are not your friend, they are your essentially your boss. It is not a democracy. |

Very well put, Mary. I do recall people knocking Evan Jager's choice to go pro early, now look at him. These things take time. Jerry has done very well with all his other athletes in getting them to Worlds and to be competitive in big meets. Athletes are allowed to have an "off" year. And still, an off year for Shalane would be a very "on" year for 99 percent of the other female distance runners in the world. She made a World team and ran solid times. |

I wonder where Salane will be next year and in 2012? Does she have the mental ability to toe the line in London? |

I wish people would stop criticizing her decision to switch coaches. It's so easy to play the armchair quarterback, but only she and the people closest to her know what's best for her. She deserves fans who are truly supportive. |

Anyone who has experience with T+F knows this woman to be a true champion. She will bounce back next year and do amazing things, perhaps sub 30 min. |

Is it me or this another case of Jeremy Warnier. He left his coach ended up beaten.... He goes back to his old coach he is starting to win again. I think that you are a good runner... but sometimes change is diffuly... Please go back to your old coach. |

nice interview--very open, cliche-free responses--real substance there, she'll make some more noise when she's 100%. |
