Usains a freaking beast man. as sad it may sound i dont think i can go 23.34 downhill on a bike. ;)Long jump, High Jump yeah. Shot put, that's silly, he can't use his running ability for that. I doubt the shot put but it's possible. The long jump, he has the speed, high jump he has speed and height, technique will be the main determining factor if he attempts these. |

I'm a swim coach and currently coach some of the fastest swimmers in USA. I love Phelps and believe he is one of the greatest athletes ever. However, I don't think that there is an athlete out there that can perform at the caliber of Bolt. Truely amazing and congrats. And oh by the way, loved the 100 finish this time around but loved the olympic finish better! |

I can't claim to be positive that he's clean, but I have 3 reasons I think he is:i like your reasons, especially the first one.here in jamaica we have been watching usain from he was a phenom in Boys' Champs-our secondary athletic championships;his times from then had us annointing him as the Chosen One, the heir finally to the throne of herb mckinley, donald quarrie and bertland cameron.logics always suggested that he, if his path remained true and progressive, would one day conquer the world;eagerly and impatiently we expected too much in 2004- we forgot he was merely 17, and prone to injuries like everyone else. What He has become is due to hard work, discipline, humility and purity of heart.Understand this,We are as shocked and awed as you are, but, we were never surprised. |

Hey Pepe Pearson, I really like your loser attitude but that's something Tyson doesn't have. After a bad Olympics Tyson was man enough to say that nothing had prevented him from running his best. If he had a losers attitude he would have blamed it on some other factor, but he didn't. He could have quit right there and then but he came back and set a personal record. He never whines or complains when things don't go his way and to me that's a true champion. A guy who can hold himself together even when he is losing. If nobody can beat Bolt we might as well just give up right? Bolt is fast that's for sure but I don't think he is unbeatable. True champions can make great comebacks, but that's something Bolt hasn't experienced yet and I'm waiting to see.WELL SAID!!! |

Ok, Tyson needs to quit. What the heck are u talking about... he just became the second fastest man in history, and fastest USA 100m sprinter ever... Just cause he cant beat usain bold does not mean that he need to quit... If what your saying is true than everybody except bolt should quit and let him run all the races by himself... |

I enjoy watching the total respect all three have for each other, no in your face crap or crazy antics of the 90's, track sorely needs these three to continue. |

yeah, Gay looks like he's hurting. They say in the crack recap that Gay may not run the 200 because of the hammy. I hope he's ok and put on a good race in the 200, too. If not...well....he just ran a NR and became #2 performer all-time. Not a bad day's work. |

Gay is going to be the Jan Ullrich of the track world for the next five years. Chasing the man who can't or won't be beat. Bolt is his Armstrong. |

TV picked up on this race very well. It was billed to be exactly as run. All three were nervous as hell in the blocks. Jamaica on either side of Gay. These guys are huge. Bolt and Andrew Wheating (Oregon) are the same height, 6'5"! I can see Wheating running record 800's, but I'm still trying to grasp a 6'5" guy running the 100 in 9.58! After Gay's hammy pulling at the Trials last year I think everyone was sitting there with their fingers crossed. Once I saw him go into his ritualistic set into the blocks I calmed down a little. It always calms him down. Kind of a zen thing. But it worked for me too. Tyson bit a big chunk out of the American record. |
