Uploaded by Ryan From Flotrack | September 18, 2009
After the longest and most successful season of her career, Maggie Vessey has returned back to the States. Its been a roller coaster ride starting back in late March, ending with the World Athletic Final and resulting in the second fastest time of the year (1:57). We got to catch up with Maggie to talk about the year, what she's taken from it and where she wants to go from here. She's become part of a strong group of American mid-distance women that have really made it exciting to be a fan of track and field in the US. We look forward to more from Ms. Vessey in 2010.

Mags has done fantastically well in 09 with minimal support. The emotional fragility and honesty (and black nails) are highly endearing. Still, to get consistent and challenge for world best in 2011 and 12, i suspect she's got to get into one of the prime training peer groups and under the guidance of a prime coach. I'd hate to see her start thinking of herself in prima donna mode, but she really needs a stronger support network to counter the insecurity issues. |

I swear she is dating someone from floTrack. She is always hanging out with them and seeming to give access where FloTrack normally would not be. Who has the scoop? |

She aint kidding about haveing to fight to get into meets, it is ridiculous. I am a consistent low 49 400 hurdler and couldnt even get phone calls back from the major USA meets. Very hard to get your name out there, when the names from the past go and run slow. Maggie you are beautiful. |

This interview was good but would have been even better if you would have caught her lounging around in her underwear. |

This fan looks forward to watching you achieve your goals. Your stage is only going to get bigger and bigger in the years that follow. You have the tools and USA track needs you. Nail polish choice? |

That 1:57 was crazy. I also really enjoyed her coming out of nowhere at Pre in a tank top with no company logo on it. I actually watch women's middle distance now.American womens track has been incrediblely entertaining the last two years. I´ve found myself looking forward to the womans races more than the guys. I want to give kudos to the guys too, though. Steppin´up their game recently (go ritz, teg, just to name a few) has made me pay more attention to them than previous years. I´m not convinced they are actually stepping up their game, as much as just beginning to see the results of the last couple of years of hard work that they´ve put in... |

Glad she decided to pursue her dreams! Sure made for a very exciting year in the womens 800! Three women under 200 minutes in 2009 was pretty special! |
