Leo Manzano is coming off a great first year as a professional. Leo made it to the finals of the World Championships in the 1500, set a PB of 3:33, and capped if off with a runner up finish at the IAAF World Athletic Final. In his previous two seasons Leo had made it to the World Championships and Olympics, but never made it to the final and never really competed against the best guys in the world. Manzano has grown over the past year and is now ready for the challenges and competition a pro faces. Leo will open his season in a few weeks at the Rbk Boston Indoor Games.

Coach John Cook is the genious who designs the training. Ryan Ponsonby works with the athletes to oversee and implement the workouts. Cook is currently coaching Leo manzanio, Shannon Rowbury, Jacob Hernandez, David Torrance and Treniere Clement.

Quite a stable of talent. Should be a phenomenal year for Cook and all of his athletes.

I wonder if Leo and coach Vig are still in touch. I will never forget that coaches story regarding Leo and the NCAA and how he came to Texas and then when he was in the finals he picked Leo for the win!
