In the fifth video of Under Armour's Run Origins series UA has some big news to announce: Under Armour will be supporting ROGUE Elite, an elite post collegiate team based out of Austin, TX. After four videos and alot of comments and feedback from the running community Under Armour has listened, and hopes that this is a step towards progressing their running line.

TeamROGUE Elite, sponsored by Under Armour, is now accepting applications for positions on its elite team. We currently are recruiting a few men & women for our already solid roster. Our primariy focus is on the middle distance area (800m-3000m/steeple) as we feel this segment of the distance population has fewer opportunities to defray the costs of being a professional athlete. However, all interested athletes who have met these standards are encouraged to turn in an application for our consideration. All applicants to should send a running resume to Head Coach, Steve Sisson at sisson@roguerunning.com. This application should include pertinent races, marks & competitive experience. Also include a short personal statement indicating why TeamROGUE Elite & Under Armour should consider you for their team. Please do not repeatedly contact our head coach. All applicants will receive an email indicating that their application was received & will be considered based on its merits. Everyone who turns in an application will receive an email within two weeks to let them know if they will be interviewed for further consideration. Please do not waste our time with false marks. Only serious applicants need apply.

TeamROGUE Elite Standards:

- “A” Standard = Full Benefits/Funding as determined by the club. - “B” Standard = Benefits/Funding based on subjective criteria and need-basis. - Rogue Racing Standard = Training Partners, Coaching and Equipment. Within categories, extra benefits and funding amounts are subject to the coach, administrators and board under qualifying circumstances such as inactivity during a competitive season, outside sponsorships, etc. All special circumstances will be discussed between the individual athlete, coach, administrators and board in order to provide fairness and equality to all athletes. o MEN § 800m – “A” 1:47.5, “B” 1:48.5 § 1500m – “A”3:39.0, “B” 3:44.0 § Mile – “A” 3:57.0, “B” 4:01.0 § 3k Steeple – “A” 8:32.0, “B” 8:43.0 § 5000m – “A” 13:35.0, “B” 13:55.0 § 10,000m – “A” 28:30.0, “B” 29:00.0 § Half-Marathon – “A” 1:03:30, “B” 1:05:00 § Marathon – “A” 2:15:00, “B” 2:20:00 o WOMEN § 800m – “A” 2:02.0, “B” 2:05.0 § 1500m – “A” 4:11.0, “B” 4:19.0 § Mile – “A” 4:32.0, “B” 4:40.0 § 3k Steeple – “A” 9:45.0, “B” 10:05.0 § 5000m – “A” 15:40.0, “B” 16:00.0 § 10,000m – “A” 32:30.0, “B” 34:00.0 § Half-Marathon – “A” 1:12:30, “B” 1:15:00 § Marathon – “A” 2:34:00, “B” 2:42:00 We are also accepting applications for our local Rogue Racing team. KEEP SHORT SHORTS

Brian Hannold 2 years ago

If UA comes out with a versatile, minimalist trainer somewhere in the ballpark of 8-9 ounces I'd be willing to try it out. Also some bright colors in the clothing would be nice. I like wearing bright green for some reason and I haven't seen any UA clothing in that color. The same goes for the shoes. Try to liven them up with some color instead of having them look dull and plain. The next thing to keep in mind is widths. Make most shoes avaliable in widths so you don't automatically cut out potential buyers who like the shoes but can't get the right fit with them.

I went to the under armour site after watching this, and like many others have said, there aren't any good running shorts! If you want to have elite guys wearing your stuff you need to make some super light, super short running shorts!!

Why Would you implement A standards that nobody on your team has even met?
Somebody with those times could be running for Nike or Adidas both of which currently have a more competitive product out on the market and more money to fund athletes.

It is good to see another shoe company getting in the mix.

Alex Peterson 2 years ago

I agree, minimalist shoes are definitely where it's at, the idea that an extra half inch of rubber makes a difference with the impact forces involved in running isn't being bought anymore. A widespread transition to minimalist trainers is happening

MikeyB 2 years ago

My favorite minimalist shoe is the Adidas Mama, compete with that!

Personally I would like to see you make a shoe with a similar concept to Newton's. I am a mid/forefoot striker and hate the big bulky cushion in the back of the shoe but I am not willing to pay $175 for a pair of running shoes from Newton every couple months when I wear them out. A lightweight mid/forefoot specific shoe at a reasonable price would sell like crazy

Models or Runners? 2 years ago

Sounds like a great group with a lot of talent. But given their results this year, I think they need to spend less time modeling and more time training!

Ian Hamilton 2 years ago

REAL competitive wear, especially spikes. Please get in on that market and give adidas and Nike some competition. Please.

i really think that there is a huge market out there for minimalist shoes. I bet vibram is making a killing right now as well as companies that make shoes like the new balance mt100. Minimalism is hot right now but so far there hasnt been any good lines of shoes for it. In the video UA said that they wanted to help the foot work naturally, then make some good training flats!

Derek Cardinale 2 years ago

Needs good looking racing kits. Half-tights, jerseys, shorts. Some very minimal shoes not just spikes and flats but also trainers. And somebody please invent a seamless running shoe so you do not have to wear socks when you train! Pear Izumi are the only ones with something like it now but there running shoes are worse the Under Armors.

Man flotrack yall gotta tell me when your in B-more

high school runner 2 years ago

Please make short shorts and half tights!
At high school meets half of the sprinters wear under armour compression shorts because it's almost impossible to find good half tights.

make a minimal trainer and some LIGHT spikes!

Benjamin Peterson 2 years ago

Short shorts would explode your profits. Make a short that is as short as nike's and make it cheap. nobody wants to pay over $15-$20 for shorts. keep em short! (1.5" - 2")

Hey, talk to Fam, he seems to have some ideas about neat running stuff!

i want to hear more about the live as a U.A. runner...

im guessing it means 2 years ago

Full Benefits=clothing, housing, insurance, sallary, etc.

What does Full Benefits/Funding mean?

If there are for example, two companies with a similar quality product, with one clearly supporting top athletes and the sport of track and field, and the other not, I would definitely purchase the product from the company that does support the sport. I will vote with my money, will you?

socerdude581 2 years ago

i think some type of racing tights would be a great idea

I agree with Michael... 2 years ago

Make some real running clothes. That includes short shorts!

Pick it up Rogue Team 2 years ago

The Rogue team better pick it up to make an impact for UA. I've seen 3 of them drop out in one race (TX Relays 5k), 2 of them get out kicked in a local road race, and 1 of them last place in the Boston mile. That's not a good start! But there is potential (several All-Americans).

Josh Bradley 2 years ago

Is that moby i hear?

YOU CAN BE BIG 2 years ago

please, make a spike very similar to the Nike Matumbo. The lighter the spike, thats what poeple will wear. The Nike Matumbo is the best distance spike out there, you dont have to copy them, but make a spike AS light and the similar.

Michael Carter 2 years ago

Please, do not bring about the extinction of short shorts. Darren Brown knows whats up.

Bart VanAalst 2 years ago

Maybe put in a first-aid kit for Darren -16 stitches- Brown!!

Good to see him back in making jokes! See you in Brasschaat ;-)

You need Bigger names 2 years ago

Under Armour needs to pick up some bigger names to get the product out there! Get the athletes to talk about what they like about the shoe and what not

not jake 2 years ago

that was not jake morse, it's his twin friend who happens to look just like him...no joke
