Kevin, thank you for sharing Mammoth with us in this video series. For those of us who have always wondered what it is like there but have not had the opportunity to visit, this is wonderful!

Are there any marathon training camps that adults can attend there in Mammoth Lakes?

Flagstaff is pretty much the same thing for a lot less $ and they already have a track (two if you count the indoor track in the dome):o) However, you don't have the quality of runners you have in Mammoth. The Flag guys are a notch below this group.
Definitely true. The guys living in Flagstaff year round are a touch below. However, the absolute best in the world do come to visit (I'm sure you can say the same about Mammoth...). Lagat almost always makes Flagstaff a part of his preparation before the summer racing season. Paula Radcliffe has come out here. Lopez Lomong is the King of Flagstaff (and has recently returned to his throne).

A little disclaimer... I do run for NAU so I'm obviously very biased!

anyone else find all those sounds of running footsteps odd? since the video never actually cuts to anyone running

How did Terrance get this job to coach such incredible runners? Who did he coach?

What about bears?
What about cougars?
Looks like sort of an upwardly mobile type area too...
But, it's the bears and cougars that I worry about the most...
I run in a desolate area and wass only the 3rd person in my state attacked by coyotes on a predawn run...
So, wildlife is a big deal to me-ha.

December-August, but they have home meets this February. Could be a good sign.

This slow white boy wants to go visit Mammoth Lakes now.

Mammoth is no doubt one of the greatest places to train in the summer. I'm interested to see if they talk about training there in the brutal winters. Mammoth gets dumped on. Can't imagine the running is too nice with well over 25 feet of annual snowfall.

Flagstaff on the other hand... ;)

The Mammoth TC athletes are all quite friendly and easily accessable, which makes it all the more nice to visit and get in some running there. Their talks in the park were great.

Dave - Altitude in Mammoth Lakes ranges from just under 8,000 feet in town to more than 9,000 feet at Horseshoe Lake and the summit of Mammoth Mountain is more than 11,000

Thanks Kevin and FloTrack for making this video. I'm excited to see the rest.

You should have gone to the Mammoth Chamber of Commerce for a little sponsorship. I have a feeling this series will bring some more runners up for camps and vacations next year.
