Its been a while since we've seen someone different at the top of the world list for the 100 meters, but this year Tyson Gay has done what many believed was impossible....Beat Usain Bolt. The fastest man of 2010 runs with an interesting story on his feet. Take an inside look at what happen to develop and inspire the best spike in the world.

new plates came out in 2008. they usually stay in line for 3yrs then change. uppers tend to change each year.

You also have to keep in mind that in the previous few years gay has been trying to catch bolt that he was also injured. The truth is that we havent seen either athlete run against the other while they both at 100%.

Bolt had an injury earlier, and his coach kept him from running the curve. his leg was fine for the 100M. just slower and weak that day. Whereas Gay has been great this year!

While Adidas is a great company and organization, but I have to agree with Nice, Adidas needs to step their spike game up. their most recent plate for the sprints at least was in 2004! I understand great athletes use them but they've been using the same spikes for almost 6 years. Some spikes like the MD have had upper changes but the powersprint has stayed almost completely the same. I know if it aint broke dont fix it but you wont know what works till you try

EZ big fella........ I think it was the spike that inspired them down the Jesse Owens path. That is what I got from the vid. Either way they look pretty sweet.
With regards to Owens: I wish adidas woudl sell 1936 Jesse Owens singlets. I would love to have one!

Seriously...other major brands? Like who...Nike? Thats it, so thats brand, not Nike. And adidas has had spikes and racers good enough for Wariner, Felix, Vlasic, Haile, Rudisha, Gay, Ennis, Choge, Jepkosgei, Robles, Campbell-Brown, Ohuruogu, Savigne, iduwo, Evora, Vili, Pearson, Ferguson-McKenzie, Wisconsin, NC State, Michigan, UCLA, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisville, Notre Dame, Indiana, Mississippi State and countless others. I think their performance wear has worked just fine. Some people are just way too swayed by hype.

If they made... 2 years ago

the white kind in a xc or long distance spike I would totally buy it. They look awesome and addidas always makes good stuff. Ill totally ditch my brooks for you guys

Hopefully they will keep designing some new sprint and distance stuff too.

But really, it took some dude to bring in a pair of his Grandmothers old spikes for adidas to get off their a** and do some spike development? Adidas spike R&D;really need to get their stuff together if they want to compete with the other major brands.
