The 1964 Olympic 5,000 meters. Bob Schul of the USA wins, with teammate Bill Dellinger taking third.
Frank Shorter quote- "Bob Schul ran his final lap, on a muddy track, in just over 54 seconds, his last 300 meters as fast as Peter Snell had sprinted the same distance to win the 1500m in the same games but on a dry track. From 10 meters behind going into the final turn, Bob ran down Michel Jazy, the prerace favorite who held the world record for the mile."
