A college freshman's journey to break 15:46 in the indoor 5k.
"When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place"
dude..shut the up. don't be a little church boy about the music because it swears a little. and dont complain just because he's not at olympic standards..its just supposed to be an inspirational video.
I'm working to Walk-On at my school before I graduate in XC and Track and this is a huge inspiration to me.
i like how all these people giving advice and saying how much better they are and how much more competetive there school, conference, and region is dont even log in. i dont think someone that is a 4 min miler or a 14 min 5k runner is sitting here looking at this video and taking the time to right negitive posts because you have to start somewhere and those guys that are truely that fast were just like this kid the in video at one point. you have to start somewhere it was his freshmen indoor season. just a thought.
such a classy film.that kenya video is shoddy. Hopefully, they'll uncover how he is cheating and take the trip away.
All you have to do is sign up (http://track.flocasts.org/auth/register), which takes less than a minute, go to this link (http://track.flocasts.org/beijing2008/finals), and then vote a 3 for the video. As you can see Jake is not winning at the moment, help him win this contest and make the trip to Beijing representing SHIP!
Everyone remember you have to login and sign up to vote! Directions are a couple posts below this.

Jake, Now it seems somebody finds it funny to post comments using my name. I have not & will not ever bash any of the other videos!!
Hey Jake I know why you ran so fast indoors...you didn't have your orange hat on as wind resistance LOL. Great job on reaching your goal and set many more! Take care, Stacey W.
After rewatching it, I agree with a lot of the posts. This kid, while not the fastest person out there, makes up for it in ball size. He went for a goal and did it. Not everyone is cut out for the [insert your superior DI conference that is better than everyone else here]. That's why there is DII, DIII, NAIA, and even JuCo. It all comes down to passion, not talent. He enjoys this. Enough said.
"Most people should never say their goals outloud because it causes too much pressure. Good luck though."People who don't say their goals out lout don't believe them, and thus, won't succeed. Saying goals out loud or writing them down is just like visualizing a race or meet, it can only help. As long as the goal is realistic, and this one clearly was, it's key to voice it. I must say, you are incorrect.
and i went shirtless sometime not too long after christmas on a day where it was like 60 degrees
yeah the orange hat and outfit is a joke, yeah this is jake sitler, and yeah I did do this just on friday.
