Chris Erichsen returned to Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN for six weeks of training leading up to the 2011 USA Olympic Marathon Trials held in Houston, TX on January 14th. Chris ran 6 x 1 mile on a cool, foggy December day ranging from 4:45 to 4:50 with 4:00 jog recovery between reps. Warm-up, workout, and cool-down totaled 18 miles for the morning in the middle of a 150 mile week. Chris would like to thank Target Corp. for their phenomenal support. They were kind enough to grant him a three-month paid leave of absence leading up to the Trials. Chris has been a business analyst at Target Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN for three years and continues to work there full-time. Chris has won his first two marathons; at Fargo in 2010 and at Virginia Beach in 2011. His personal best going into the Trials is 2:18.25 from the latter race. Chris also ran 1:04.29 at the Gary Bjorklund-Marathon in Duluth, MN this past June. His qualifying times rank him 63rd in the 163 runner field. Chris looks to improve upon his personal best in Houston and finish as high as possible.
