Amy Hastings has an emotional day after battling with the leaders and finishings fourth place at the 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston. Hastings ran 2:27:17, which is only about 15 seconds off of her personal best. The past year has been a huge breakthrough for Amy at the elite level, look for more from her this spring!

I thought her surge after 18 miles was very smart. Kara looked like she was struggling a little at that point and it could have been a breaking point. If Amy hadn't made that move, she might be questioning it afterwards. Great second marathon and glad she still has options left for London. |

Go for the 10K! The 10K is best suited for strong marathoners (like yourself). Kara Goucher. earned the 3rd marathon spot, and in 2008 she was a 10K (& 5K) Olympian. With the 10K, you only have to race it once instead of running 2 5Ks to make the team. Whatever decision you make, best wishes of success. |

WOW!!!! I always admired Amy, but now I have mad respect for her. My heart broke watching her finish, but more importantly-She ran an AMAZING race-total gamer and it's only her 2nd marathon. Looking forward to more and more kick ass races! |
