The was much anticipation over the match up between Galen Rupp and Bernard Lagat after the two swapped American Records in the 5k and 2 mile a few weeks ago. Lagat answered any question that he is the best championships racer in America winning the 3k in 7:47, about ten seconds over Rupp and four seconds ahead of runner up Lopez Lomong.
