Riley Masters after falling and not qualifying in 1500 at 2012 NCAA West Prelim

If "The Real Maine" didn't put Riley Masters in the spotlight, then his Big 12 1500m title and 3:37.19 performance at Oxy most certainly did. Going into the final Masters seemed like a lock for Des Moines, but a bit of jostling and jockeying moving into the bell lap left Masters and Wisconsin's Reed Connor tangled up and hitting the track hard. Though this weekend didn't go as planned, Masters will try to shake it off and look ahead to the Olympic Trials.
