Andrew Wheating is coming off of a last place finish in the Bowerman Mile at the Prefontaine Classic on his home track at Hayward Field. After realizing he needed some momentum heading into the Olympic Trials Wheating made the trip up to Vancouver where he turned things around. He won the Harry Jerome Classic in a time of 3:35 (just off the A standard) to break the NTL record and give him needed momentum heading into the Trials. Wheating talks about letting go of the pressure of Hayward fans and running for himself as he is in his second year as a professional athlete.
