South African 1500 specialist Peter van der Westhuizen among the many chasing the standard at 2012 Donovan Bailey Track Classic

Ahh the life of a 1500 meter man chasing a standard. Peter West (yea thats what we are sticking with) started the outdoor season hot with wins at Kansas and Drake but is just off the the 3:35 standard that he hit just a few years ago. The game is a little different depending on what country your from but the struggles are almost universal for an athlete chasing a time. Peter is a grad from the University of Nebraska.
