Julie Culley using confidence from Trials win heading into Olympic Games

Julie Culley has taken a leap of faith in 2012. She previously didn't see herself as "someone who wins races" but gained tremendous confidence knowing she had an unprecedented streak of injury-free training that she had never experienced over the course of her career. 2012 marks Culley's first time making a US track team outright, while in 2009 she represented the country after finishing fourth at the US Championships and eventually going to Berlin after the third place finisher did not have the standard in the 5k. Culley surprised many with her win at the Trials in Eugene where she took down the American Record holder, Molly Huddle, over the final 200 meters. Look for Julie to take the track in the Olympic stadium on August 7 in the 5000 meter prelims.
