Julia Bleasdale really leapt onto the international scene in 2012, finishing eighth in both the 5000 and 10,000 meters at the Olympic Games. This year's improvements have been a result both of accumulated training and a renewed commitment to the sport under coach Nic Bideau.

What's next for Julia? After such a large breakthrough, she's looking for further progressions in her strength and speed. Don't be shocked to see the Brit challenging the world's best in future major championships as Shalane Flanagan and Kara Goucher did in years past.
