Last spring Andy Bayer broke through as NCAA Champ outdoors in the 1500 against a strong field. It wasn't a fluke. Bayer went on to finish 4th at the Olympic Trials and surprised many. It looked as though Bayer was reaching new levels...until the fall. Bayer suffered a stress fracture and had a late start to training for indoors. After a few slow openers, Bayer eventually ran a solid 7:51 3k, but come nationals wasn't in the hunt for a title. Bayer talks about the frustration of set backs after having the best spring of his career and where he will go from here.
