Mark Crear two-time Olympic Medalist on the State of the Worlds Hurdlers

Every year, two-time Olympic medalist Mark Crear returns to his alma mater (Mt. SAC) to check out all of the action. Crear, the 110mH silver medalist in '96 and the the bronze medalist in '00, can finally watch his old event. Initially, it was tough for him to be a spectator of the sport, but after seeing the new wave of hurdlers, Crear is amazed. Back when he competed, it seemed as if some 110mH records would stand the test of time. Now, there's guys running in the 12.8x and using some new unconventional techniques. It's simply unbelievable. Also, Crear loves the competition, but wishes there was more old school rivalries. Back in the day, why was the hurdles one of the most intense events?
