Deena Kastor will toe the line tomorrow in the 2008 Olympic Marathon. Returning as the 2004 Olympic bronze medalist, Deena says the only thing that can top her experience in Athens would be having the US National Anthem playing while standing atop the podium.
Deena runs in the Marathon on Sun, AUG 17th in Beijing.

Sorry for the post flood, but I just read that Deena's agent, Ray Flynn, said through a USATF statement that X-rays have confirmed that Deena has a broken right foot. |

Man,my stomach dropped when I saw her drop out. Deena is a class act and will rebound if she can nurse this injury. Maybe a fall marathon for redemption. Maybe it was a dropped metatarsal is what it sounds like. |

if your watching right now, deena just dropped out after about three miles in. she was holding her foot. after three miles at a slow pace this tells me this was a injury she had coming into the race. why do all those miles and come to the trials and stop after three??!! taking care of your body should be most important! |

I'll be cheering for her tonight as I watch the coverage on television. She is, quite simply, one of the best American athletes we have. |
