Nick Symmonds at Brooks HQ after signing

In the flesh at Brooks HQ in Seattle, Nick Symmonds has officially announced that he'll join the Brooks Beasts. Symmonds, who has made three world championships finals, has switched coaches and brands in a decision that was very business-minded. Symmonds also gives some perspective to unsponsored runners and how he will fit in with the young Beast squad. We also really enjoyed this quote from Symmonds: "I would have come off as a little bit hypocritical if I said that we need to fight for the athlete's rights to be able to market themselves and operate as independent contractors and then sign a Nike contract that basically completely crippled my ability to do that."
