This guy is a great runner, and a class act. I hope he makes it to the Olympics.

Not just expect, Hall announced he would prior to the race. So yeah, Scotty made it. Right, they are taking 9?

dave_x 4 years ago

many expect that hall will drop out to continue marathon training that will put him in 9th and on the team

Great guy who looks like he's got the keys and knowledge to be a factor on the roads and track, not to mention the XC courses. Best of luck Scott.

Who??? 4 years ago

You let your teammate win the 5K!!! You let him. I dont know how you let someone else win. Race to win scotty!!! You'll learn...

Great interview. I hope the younger guys take stock in what he says, i.e. don't hammer your workouts, stay within your limits and build, build, build.

idiots 4 years ago

yeah those people who are hating on this guy are complete morons. seriously, the guy is a class act, humble, and whatever you wanna call it. i bet these are the guys who have never made varsity in high school/college and now they are fat and their pr in the 5k is 17:30. loool

How can you think he is a douche based on this? He doesnt talk sh*t on anyone, just talks realistically about how he should go about completing his goals.

Scott has a lot of foresight to realize what he needs to do in order to succeed. Im really glad he said he thinks he should move up to the marathon, he had an awesome half (1:03:04). As far as looking confused, thats just kinda how he looks, hes not confused, his forehead is just like that.
And how did he get so many comments already, this was just added today? Shows he has a good following, he is going to destroy the distance scene in the coming years.

Wow, way for some of you guys to come off as morons. I would love to see some of you guys in front of a camera talking about how hard it is to try and break 15 min for the 5K. If the quality of your writing is any indication of your intelligence then you will probably come off as complete idiots. Here is a guy who is making the commitment to improve, putting up quality times and giving something back to the sport and all you guys want to do rag on his hair and laid back style. He already has a top ½ marathon time and made a national team. I think he is already pushing the elite American level with these performances. And he still has 2 track and 1 cross season to go in COLLEGE.
Good luck in SD.

what gives 4 years ago

wow, what's with the haters? did you get outkicked by him or something? oh wait, you're probably way slower than he is.

ghost 4 years ago

he's either got great insite, or has / had great coaching, because for a college guy, he understands the big picture very well. Previous comment is right on, even if you're a 10k guy, you've got to be able to run a fast 1500, Bekele, etc. Good luck Bauhs, keep the long view!!
