Nice meet in Eugene. Too bad the officials acted like jerks. This one official made the USC steeplechaser take off her hat a few seconds before the race in front of everyone. I thought that was classless and I dont know if there is a rule against caps. I see them worn all the time.

Correct. Although, I'm sure they might show some shots (from regionals) during National Champs coverage broadcast. Reasoning behind it? Probably a business decision first and foremost. They weren't going to do full productions for the 4 regional events, nor would have been able to monetize it via ad revenue if they could. The setup costs would have been quite high for such small, in comparison to Nationals, events. So they (CBS & NCAA) have contracted another organization who uses the footage for stock and can resell it to media agencies. It's the most cost effective way to capture the footage and not spend millions with full production setups. The content then has potential revenue generation as well, permanently. For the casual fan who wants to view races and highlights, you are mostly out of luck.

soooo no one will ever be able to see coverage of the races? since it isnt on tv or on the internet? theyre just going to keep it locked up somewhere? whats the reasoning behind that?

You can't, unfortunately. You would need to buy the rights to the clips from the company the NCAA worked with during regionals.
