Nike is an awful company that abuses workers and manipulates the world through advertising. They have too much social power and should be dismantled. Track is an amazing sport. Its spirit did not begin with Nike nor will it end with Nike.

thanks mark. my immediate thought when listening to phil was of bill bowerman and his work at oregon and nike. our sport would be so different without bowerman and knight's concern for the athletes in it. i hope those non oregon, non nike fans can take pause and be thankful for bowerman, knight and others in the early oregon-nike community and realize this is a good moment for all of us in the sport.

His passion for the sport has always been true. It's good to see that he still cares about the university that gave him his start, Nike or no Nike.
