In the Netherlands we have a fake grass track on the outside of the normal track. It's 500metres and it's perfect for longer intervals. Because it's fake grass it doesn't need any maintenance. It's still very comfortable, even barefeeted.
I really like the footage, keep them coming!

Ya grass tracks definitely seem like a super smart and more beautiful choice, but I'm sure upkeep would be hell.

grass tracks are very popular in australia. Most high schools have one with lanes marked out around their rugby fields though the track featured in the video above is noted as a the best grass track in the country!

That would be BOMB for distance workouts. Like, why don't more places have grass tracks? I mean, hell, it seems more sensible and less expensive, right?

Yeah in NZ here we have a lot of grass tracks as nearly only major cities have rubber tracks. You should ask Willis about the grass tracks mark I know he used to train a lot on them so he wouldnt get injured, and he once told me that if you train on atrack that you never really race on then you during the race it wont feel just like another workout. The other great thing about runnning on grass tracks is that if you dont have a rubber track in your town when you travel to run a race and you get on the Mondo it feels like a very specil occasion and you tend to run huge PR's as its so much faster.
Im loving the footage so far Mark I look forward to the series.

I was blown away with the track.
I ran a 200 400 200 barefooted because I didn't know if I would ever get a chance to do something like that ever again.
It felt great.

That grass track would be perfect for intervals when wearing barefeet. If only we had something like that here in the States.

Perth

Steven Hooker and Perth, Australia were amazing and I can't wait to go back. Steve has a great set-up and he tries to get into the water at least once a day and who wouldn't because its beautiful and feels so good. The first day Steve and his mate, Luke told me that the water becomes an addiction. After only 3 days I was an addict and was running into the water at first sight. Hooker will be one of the athletes we will showcasing in our up-coming series if you haven't already guessed. Just like the two ladies before Steve, I'm pretty positive that you will be quite entertained with Steven and will b cheering for him in Beijing. Oh yeah the grass track was really something. I don't know if other grass tracks are like that because that is the only one I have seen but it hard enough to do workouts on but it was grass so it would prevent a lot of injuries. Anyway my time abroad is winding down and looking forward to getting back to the states and get after it this Indoor season. Later, Mark Flo
