Ritz announced he's out of the Healthy Kidney 10k with an injury...ahem.
Dr Timothy Noakes (Lore of Running) says that in his experience IT band problems is one of the least reliably treatable running injuries.
Hope Ritz beats it in time but beware kids, this is nothing to mess with.

Ritz announced he is out of World XC & US 8k championships
The reason cited is lingering IT band soreness...ahem.
Hope this isn't reacting too late to a ailment known to be hard/slow to get rid of. Not the sort of start you want to an Olympic year.
Lidocaine patch in a race = playing with fire.

GUYS, you'd think all Flotrack interviewers would learn after Mottram's pwnage last summer--IDENTIFY YOURSELF BEFORE THE INTERVIEW STARTS. Don't just walk up and start interviewing.

Thank you sadie_x. I appreciate all that Flotrack does, and I want it to be as best as it possibly can be. To frank_x, I only wish you weren't such a profanity, spewing thug. I'm glad you get your kicks by doing that though. Keep up the good work. It's real classy.

Impressive margin of victory.
I do wonder about racing with a lidocaine patch...
Just b/c you can't feel it doesn't mean it's not getting messed up.
Isn't Scotland where he injured himself to begin with?
Hope he's right and the injury is well in hand. It will be interesting to see him in world cross
