Alex has always beat Nicole in H.S. and will continue too . . . Way to go ALEX!!!
Well, that's not really true. Nicole Blood was the New York State XC Champion 3 times, setting a course record as a junior on the Van Cortlandt Park Course. She also won the Foot Locker NE 3 times, led the US during track season in both the 3K, 5K, becoming the State champion in the 3K twice. She also ran it at the Pan Am Jr. Games which she won. Her single season at Royal HS, Semi Valley, just before starting at Oregon, has little or nothing to do with her proven ability as a runner.

Bottom line, they are teammates and have learned to work together. They don't focus on the same events at the same time so in reality, one or the other will usually have the edge, depending on the race. But first and foremost, two green suits in the same race is always better than one because they help each other. Just kick back and enjoy a great effort by both of them, no matter who wins.

What Do You Know   March 23, 2008 at 6:47pm
i personally know alex and to all of you posting rude comments its stupid! she is an amazing runner and she deserves to win the other girl didnt have to pace her and if she loses its because shes not as good of a runner and its her problem that she doesnt have the ability to sprint the last lap.

Kosinski is a 4:38/9 miler, Blood (who is heavily focused on 3K-5K this last year) hasn't done the speed work to pull this off. Nicole has the experience to get them both out of the pack & in front, and she has the built-in clock to run perfect pace.

use the zoom button to your advantage! pan shots are not always ideal. mix in between both shots.

Cold War   March 2, 2008 at 10:59pm
Neither would the US have had to build thousands of nukes during the cold war because 1 alex would have been enough to demolish the soviets.

blood let her go around without even surging a bit. She just wanted alex to get back into lane 1 so she could get a good time
