She is amazing to watch at State track, and how she can win so many events. Although she didn't have a great XC season, it's not her sport that she is focused on.

And to piggyback on Ash's comments ... I don't think x-country is Laura's real strength. In track, her events range from the 100 - the 800 (12.2, 24.5, 55.1, 2:08).

If anything, x-country is just foundation training for the upcoming track season

Wow!!   June 28, 2008 at 4:59am
I mean this in the best way possible, but this girl is just inexperienced/("dumb") enough that she just might make it. I don't think she realizes what she is in the middle of? She has to be the youngest athlete to advance at the trials. This gives me hope for the future of American Distance running...as long as she doesn't burn out (or mom/dad/coach don't push her too hard). Bravo young lady!!!
