Great Attitude! I would love to hear more of your coach's sayings, they sound like they would be a hoot!

Best of Luck at the Olympics!!

Its a good thing she's so unselfish and wants the best for the U.S.

I'd like to see an interview of Cook. I bet that'd be a good one.
Yo posted July 2 at 6:59am.
To Anonymous Coward, in some countries that would be a good thing!

Shalane is defiantly hotter, kara looks like a cross eyed puppy dog...
Shalane Fan posted July 1 at 4:01pm.
Shalane's easily the most exciting-to-watch distance runner of our time. I hope she and Kara both come home with hardware.

GO SHALANE!

"I was so tickled!"
Mary posted July 1 at 12:34pm.
No need to hate on Shalane in favor of Kara -- both are amazing and inspiring; just different personalities. I'll be pulling for both of them (and Amy, too)!
Steph Liz posted July 1 at 4:52am.
Shalane is amazing!
thanks for this!

I love this Woman!

The brass at the Canadian olympic federation should take not of this interview.
Canada won't send "spectator" athletes to the games. Shalane shows us just how valuable that international experience on the big stage can be so valuable to a developing athlete.

doubling up!
Gooooo! posted June 30 at 10:33pm.
Go for a medal Shalane! You are obviously mentally tough enough and a ridiculously smart racer. Best of Luck!
b.crew posted June 30 at 10:14pm.
Shalane is a good runner, but not very out going....
KARRAA ALL THE WAY!!
Bobby posted June 30 at 9:55pm.
If you look up the word healthy in the dictionary you will see her picture. Very intense and a lot nicer than I thought. Run hard Shalane, I'm sure you will, good things will come.
Joe posted June 30 at 9:25pm.
KARA!!
Fast posted June 30 at 8:58pm.
It would have been hard going in with everyone expecting you to win and make the team with so many desperate runners trying to make the team: well done!

Shalane by far.
Hmmm posted June 30 at 8:43pm.
who's hotter? Shalane or Kara?
Steve posted June 30 at 8:33pm.
I like her answer if she were not to win a medal. I agree very humble.

I'm in love. She is my new favorite female distance runner. What a baller.
C-rad posted June 30 at 7:34pm.
Legit in every way. She's going to take home some hardware from Beijing.
Yeah posted June 30 at 7:33pm.
she does seem a bit shy. I like that in an athlete... not many winners are as humble as she is. not like we need any more over-confident y people. she's great-love it!
