Wearing a lidocaine patch could be "balls" i suppose, but it's also quite reckless...a great way to unnecessarily aggravate a known injury and jeopardize training in an olympic year. That move still baffles me

LOL! Sb, you must be so dumb.

"are you joking about ritz? He runs just as hard as anyone else, and he has guts. Just look at what he during cross country, he won USATF's wearing a lidocaine patch! If thats not balls, what is?"
Brian Sell wouldn't have a lidocaine patch!

Beijing Climate

Back on November 3, 2007 Dathan Ritzenhein did more than show up and run to finish 2nd and punch his ticket to Beijing. For Ritzenhein, the performance was the outcome of months of preparation and fine tuning on every aspect of his abilities. From uniform tests and shoe practices to fueling strategies with gels and sports drinks -- Brad and Dathan left no stone unturned. The same can be said for their planning on when, where and how to approach the nasty climate of China. During a recent expo at the Eugene Marathon in May, the duo spoke at length about the training for the trials and ultimately, the 2008 Summer Olympics. This is the third part of an hour-long talk filmed on May 2nd, 2008 by Kevin Danaher.
