Taylor Miline in the blue shirt was my teammate at High Point University back in 02 and 03. Cool kid and very strong runner in the 1500m glad to see that he is running well. I need to get into a running club and do something with myself.

Spinning means turning over. The workout is a composition of both Speed River and the University of Guelph runners. The Speed River group is based at the University of Guelph and many of their training sessions are intertwined depending on the phasing. Parlovs or Parlaufs depending on your spelling are basically shuttles, when one group arrives the other takes off. In this workout the group is on a 700 meter loop.

Purpose of workout - to get aerobic stimulus during 5 x 3 on 1 off, and to work on turnover with the 375 meter repeats.

Who is Parlov and what is the purpose of this workout?

Workout with Speed River

After doing weeks of training off the trails, the Speed River group mixed things up a bit in this session. The workout starts off with 5 x 3 minutes on/ 1 minute off and then shifts to 15 minutes of Parlov 375 meter repeats. With four groups going around the 750 meter loop each group was getting roughly 45 seconds recovery.
