seems like a nice kid. Maybe a little naive about gettting clolser to the girlfriend , but theres nothing wrong with being closer to family. Plus hes got one heck of a coach at UCR.

So he didn't like being away from home? Likes being closer to his HS....that's not what college is about man. Cut the ties.

I agree with Rob Jackson; Chad and Ryan have very similar voices.

Chad seems to be on the right path, 20th at pre-nats is a very solid finish after having an up and down year last year.

Great questions-from the interviewer-I think Chad was a little reluctant in opening up...but the questions were dead on perfect.

Chad sounds just like his brother Ryan. The mannerisms, the facial expressions.I took pictures with the mother and the father at the olympic trials in N.Y.I can see a little of both parents in Ryan and Chad.He has grown up to the point that he lefted a school like Oregon that has one of the best coaches in the country to come back home and be close to his family and friends. His values are high.

Amazing perspective that reveals the true nature of his heart. Oregon is a Nike Factory. UC Riverside seems to be a place where Chad made decisions to follow his passion and assess what is important to his life. Being close to home, God (via his church) and family are a big part of his life.

GL at Big West! I'll be there cheering you on as Cal Poly goes for its 6th consecutive team title.
You can see the decisions being made by other runners:

Chad Hall, UC Riverside

Chad Hall made the switch this year from Oregon to UC Riverside. Flotrack's Kevin Selby was able to have a brief chat with him at the Mt. SAC XC Invite to see how he's enjoying his new school.
