Alter G inventor--Since shes running at 60% body mass she is probably not trying to improve her fitness; most likely she is just trying to get some turnover into her legs and get that feel of going fast. And she is doing an interview while doing this so I doubt it was any kind of a workout, probably more equivalent to a little 4 mile leg massage to stay loose. Those things are freakin' cool.

I think she is going to be looking to reclaim her place at the top of the heap of this very talented team regardless of her statement that their is no "pecking order." And best of luck to her!

Nice interview but I hope she realises that running at 60% of your bodyweight will do nothing for you. You might as well get someone to lift you up and just move your legs in a running motion. To get an equal benefit between impact reduction but also actually be running it needs to be between 92-95% of body weight.

I'd much prefer an interview with background noise but with the subject comfortable than a stilted, talking-head interview. Interviewing a runner WHILE they are running was basically invented by flowtrack and I wholeheartedly approve. Go with the Flo

Not enjoying this interview with the annoying machine noise at all. Would have been a much better interview without the distraction and noise. Thumbs down.
Nothing against Katie she seems great!

Its not in a training room. Its hidden in a small room in the dempsey indoor facility so our ty football players don't get any ideas about how it might help them...cause it won't. They're terrible.

No Pecking Order...   November 11, 2008 at 12:42pm
Guys probably don't understand that us girls can really thrive in a "no pecking order" environment. Contrary to popular belief. Bring that song about running out of feeling to nationals.....Everybody will want to hear it at post XC party.

Uncle Bob isn't the 'crazy big guy', that is Kendra's coach from Canada. I've never met him, and though he is big, he probably isn't crazy...unless you think living in an icy tundra and coaching runners is crazy? Katie is an amazing runner, and what a funny girl! Good luck at Nationals!

Is Uncle Bob that crazy big guy with the shaggy hair who was cheering them on at Pac-10s?
I think he is in one of those videos.

Katie Follett, Washington

Katie Follett was Washington's top runner at NCAA's last year finishing 19th and becoming the Huskies first All-American since 2001. This year at the conference meet she was the 5th women on the team....funny thing was, she was 5th overall!

With less than two weeks to go, Katie and the girls are excited to compete and ready to do what they've been doing all year.

You can watch the entire Huskies team sweep the Pac-10 XC Championships here

Katie's PRs:
800m - 2:06.43
Mile - 4:37.22i
1500m - 4:15.78
3000m - 9:25.09i
5000m - 16:01.16
