It didn't take a brain surgeon to know she most likely wasn't going to beat Paula. I think most people figured that out!

I think his point is that she was not going to win or beat Paula and that she was not going to run 2:22 her first time out. Kara getting the American Record is not what he (Mike Mor.) appears to be pointing out. She was not going to beat Paula, and I agree.

Kara was pretty "there" in my opinion. Fastest debut marathon by a American woman. . . 1st podium by a U.S female in 18 years. Great run. Also the times would have been faster if the it hadn't been so windy.

Did what I say would happen, happen? Why yes it did. Kara is not quite there for a marathon distance, although she ran fine. Once again, a 1/2 is NOT a whole. Matt the Rat, I respectfully must say, I was right. Paula is fine and if she has seen her better days, meaning she won't run 2:15 again, who cares, that doesn't mean she won't win. Who else has ever ran that fast? Not one women to date. Paula still rules but she just had 2 bad olympics because of injuries and bad luck. Kara ran 2:25 plus and I had her pegged for 2:26, close enough.

Matt the Rat, you have the right to disagree and I respect your respectful reply, but I still disagree. Kara is not running low 2:20's on Sunday and Paula will beat Kara. Looks have nothing to do with it. Besides, Paula is hot too and although she may not run 2:15 ever again, a 2:22 is very doable and she doesn't have to have a great day to do it. Kara's not there yet and needs to be schooled. Just my humble lowly opinion of course.

As gorgeous as Kara is I just don't think she has a marathon runners body type. And am very surprised that Alberto thinks she does and has got her convinced of this. I guess we shall see. But I wish her all the best just hope she isn't being set up for disappointment.

Kara is gonna get schooled by Paula. She has no chance against Paula on Sunday. Maybe in the future, but a 1/2 ain't a whole and beating Paula when she was on the "road back to recovery" is no doubt a victory, but a slightly hollow one at that mates!
