Kara has run one official timed marathon. One. How can anyone on this site offer an opinion as to her future potential. She debuted with an awesome time. She can and will get better. Anything beyond that is a guess, plain and simple. Anyone who says she will do this or won't do that needs to get a new crystal ball.

Well Brandon Boyer,
In Runner's World magazine Feb 2009 page 23
it says:
Runner's World-6) Race-day mind-set
kara answered: Be tough. My mom put skulls and crossbones on my water bottles, and I paint my nails black.

does this makes sense?
she does it to be tough!

Sounds like Ryan was the one taping this, not Mark. Not that he isn't a gift to the running world.

you are pretty darn legit for being in new york, running the marathon in sub 6 minute pace, and then going to the press conference to get this footage and what not, Mark Floreani is a gift to the running world.

On Sunday, her performance set three milestones: It was the fastest marathon debut ever by an American woman, beating Deena Kastor's 2:26:58 run in placing seventh at New York in 2001; it was the fastest time ever by an American at the ING New York City Marathon; and it marked the first time in 14 years that an American woman placed in the top three in New York

Fantastic gutzy run. And Um. . . eating my words because I didn't think Kara would run under 2;30 on her debut marathon and posted such on her other video. So I am glad to say I was wrong. So happy for her! She ran on strenth, talent, and yes guts! You made the U.S of A proud.
