absolutely awful standard,this must be a poor region for athletics.irish regional xc is more competitive.top ten would fail to make top 30 with the exception of winner who is obviously the only one of them who has heard of a sprint finish

Wow amity is good

Now I don't agree at all with Coward. I think a good shouter should start working on his finishing shout at least 400m before the finish line. Here are some of my tips for overall shout performance: Don't get going too fast at the start - you don't want to go into oxygen debt and not be able to shout at the finish. As soon as the pack passes, get moving to your next shouting position. Ideally, you'll have other shouters set up along the course. Also, keep in mind pack shouting - that's were you have friends, family, and alumni set up along the course for shouting. Then, there's the all important finishing shout, which, as I said, should really start well before the finish line. And always shout through the finish. Sometimes I'm still shouting when the bus pulls out (OK that's embarassing for my daughter). David's Dad has some work to do but don't worry, I don't know you but I'll be shouting for you next time. Congrats David.
