The kid is simply amazing. He just turned 18 a couple months ago, right? This race, the Jr XC, and the 7:47 3k in Seattle. Just simply amazing. The kid is on fire right now.
And in that XC race he crushed Derrick and Puskedra. I dont mean to put them down, they ran well and are both great runners, but he handed it to them. And we know Derrick is in shape after his 13:44. Wow....just wow. I'm looking forward to see what those three do at world XC. Let's hope #4 and #5 runners actually show up, too.

It's kinda amazing to me that no one seems to even care much about the kid who ran 1 second behind German with a 3:57. And the pacer should get much of this credit for running them out nearly perfectly and doing the work for the first half.
Dorian got a lot of pub for running a second behind him. Well deserved, in fact.

I split the race on my watch and if I'm not mistaken i believe he went negative: 1:59/1:57. Thats pretty impressive strength for January.

I would like to know why everyone is in such an unhealthy love affair with this kid. Yeah, he's great, but come on! I watched a vid the other day where the announcers were saying things like, "yeah, but wait until German gets going." We're playing favorites now? What if he has a bad race, are you going to throw him under the bus? He's got enough pressure on him without you all naming him the second coming of yaweh.
Have you watched the Youtube videos of Seb Coe? The British announcers seem like they're reciting love poems to the guy!

That's a 28 flat last 200, and he hasn't done any real speedwork yet!

He was sick last Saturday and wasn't phased by the best Coe could offer!

Should be a video on how it came to be sometime this week. There is an actual story behind how it went from 'not existing' to 'there it is'.

re: 'jerry' - no ... it has nothing to do with any other sites who have, or don't have the video up. heaven forbid a fascinating story be brought out into the public about the time and effort that went into finding it.

most impressive thing about German as a freshman, despite knowing big things are expected of him and probably knowing personally he can throw down some big times, he is able to run so smart and controlled early. he doesnt make mistakes like leading early or thinking he has got to run away in order to do something big. every race I watch of him is so impressive. in highschool he was used to having such tremendous leads yet here in college already he looks so comfortable in the pack and then finishing with force.
