Flotrack Supporter   February 12 at 11:05pm
By overhyped you mean appears on flotrack frequently. I'm pretty sure he's not famous anywhere else and Flotrack is still pretty small potatoes in the real world. Based on other pages on Flotrack, Saucony is one of the sponsers or main advertiser for the site. How do you think he pays for all this stuff and makes a living. Don't knock someone trying to grow this sport and create an audience for some of its personalities.

is it just me or is this guy just WAY over hyped? i mean come on, and the saucony advertisements all over, im sure mark gets paid pretty good by saucony to do this thing. Seriously this guy has run one good race in his life, 2:14 at the trials. Who knows if he will ever come close to that...what has he done since then?

Hefty?   February 12 at 8:58pm
If running at 80% of your body weight drops 30 pounds, then you weight ~150. 150lbs is not hefty.

Not sure if this counts as an actual sub-4 mile. Great effort and pretty impressive but still not part of the sub-4 club.

Yes, it'll help the injured runner, and if you're not injured, you will be after trying to be like Nate and run a sub-4.

Just watch the dang video and be glad you saw something you wouldn't have otherwise seen today. I thought this video was fascinating. Criticism is good but being negative just because you don't feel good at the moment is silly.

I ran on the alter G at the sports spa. Its a great place, Jen and Mike are awesome, and hte alter G is really cool. It would be a great way to get in some low impact speed for healthy runners and any running at all for injured runners.

I Dont Get It?   February 10 at 11:02am
whats the point. no one cares that u can go sub 4 on an alter g. maybe if it was a really treadmill that would be a more inpressive. why did all those people come out like a party? i would think any elite runner could go sub 4 on an alter g, it takes away ur body weight.

Great job Nate! Do you think incorporating the alter-g into your weekly schedule would help? I.e. Running faster on the alter-g than you would on the street. Maybe over time gradually increase the percentage of felt body weight.

Nate Jenkins Attempts Sub-4 Minute Mile

Uploaded By: Mike Lansing
Nate Jenkins, a marathoner, attempts to run sub-4 in the mile on the Alter G. Nate is not known as much for his speed as his tough attitude. Nate went over to the Sports Spa, owned by Jen and Mike Toomey, in Woburn, MA to hop on there machine and see what he could do.
