This was super coverage and I'm more and more convinced that Flotrack gives us over-the-top coverage in ways that the NBC operations of the media world could never give us.

Thanks and watching for a super 2009!

So you're saying Mark has no input on these choices?

Flanagan was a good story, but it's NBC's copywritten material. This was an inspirational video that is 100% Flotrack and a lot of us would have never seen this interview if it wasn't featured here. When I saw the Olympic Torch I thought that it was going to be Flanagan or Lopez Lomong. I was pleasently suprised to be reminded of this great interview/moment I would have otherwise forgotten.

TJ-

Ryan went to clemson (SC) and is from new england, like Shalane. I doubt there's much Texas bias there

I agree with TJ. Flanagan was definitely inspirational/great comeback to come from food poisoning to bronze medal in the Olympics.. something that less than 5 American runners, male or female, have done before (medal in the 10k). Especially if you guys even saw the race.. with her holding up "three" in disbelief/questioning/wondering if it was really true and her mother sobbing in the stands.

This was indeed inspirational, but your UT bias is showing. More inspirational than a food-poisoned bronze medal and AR at the Olympics? Come on.

Here's a link to the background on why this story is so poignant.

Speaking of Leo. . . he could be in the runing for all your "best of" videos; best kick, best crazy interview, and most inspirational! Leo in a word is just a superlative! Cept of course that last interview when Ryan let him ramble (he he he). Just kidden Leo you are the best!

Most Inspirational in 2008

After a handful of father-son duos trying to become the first sub-4 minute pair in the history of the US, one duo finally was able to break the barrier. It was emotional and heartwarming, all the makings of Flotrack's Most Inspirational Moment of 2008.
