Now I like dyestat.com, but I think this illustrates a great advantage of Flotrack. Dyestat just reported that Trevor recently verbally committed to the University of Portland, and at the bottom of the page was the following text:

"On November 8th, Trevor Dunbar AK ran a 9:01 3200 in a snowstorm. He's at the front edge of a renaissance in Alaska HS running."
Snowstorm? I am not at all trying to take away from this run. It's downright amazing. However, I am glad that we can actually see the video and know exactly what happened rather than read a misleading sentence that sums it up.

Having watched Trevor run the 1600 and 3200 last spring in Fairbanks at state and state CC this fall in Palmer, I have no doubt as to his ability to run that pace or faster even under conditions many of us would consider impossible. A great kid and a great runner.

Both ideas, #1--User Video Categories and #2--User Video of the Week....are fantastic ideas. This will open Flotrack up so that when you guys are off at one particular event, we will have access to more videos from other events all over THE WORLD! Soon your site may be called Floworldtrack......or maybe that is the title for the user video section!

One possible system to keep track of the great user videos could just be awarding a video of the week and posting those into some place on the website

Dunbar's 2 mile was a great pick.

Maybe you guys could segregate user videos into categories like races, time trials, comedy, interviews and workouts. Then you could hand out more best user videos in each category? Also, that might make surfing the users vids easier or more efficient.

With the thousands of user vids out there this was a tough call. There was a lot of buzz about this video even a month after it went up and it created a lot of excited for the on the high school cross country scene. Bundle up and check out the this year's best user vid...
